Healthy Roses are Well Placed Roses

Rose var Double Delight

Are you a rose grower or lover? With their vast array of exquisite flowers and fragrances , roses have been beloved throughout human history . This very high vibrational plant species has also been regarded by many as difficult to grow without a concerted number of cultural practices that are less than sustainable. My experience thus far indicates that growing healthy roses need not be mutually exclusive to sustainaibility . I find that an organic or biodynamic cultural regimen, whatever your favorite plan, is an excellent place to begin. However, aside from any initial soil prep or watering system implementations, it all really begins for us with our roses when we place them into our yard. Of course we look for earth spotsto place them that have enough sun or whatever other climactic conditions we know the rose to favor. There is every indication , however, that we can even better place the roses we grow by going down to the true basics - to the level we call vibrational energy or that some call harmonizing the energy flow as in feng shui. In my experience , placing a plant well from a vibrational level affects the life force of a plant at least as equally as all the cultural practices we use before and after it has been planted! I am hoping this article will give us all more intuitive licence so that we can practice tuning into our plants before we place them, as well as afterwards. For roses in particular, who hold some of the highest of vibrations in all the plant kingdom - making them particularly sensitive to everythingh including placement - this could in the long run be even more important than any of our cultural practices.

Getting Down to It:

There are two ways to decide where to place any rose :   the old fashioned logical way, or by using vibrational matching which is intuitively based. Using each is the way that I like to personally proceed.

The logical way would consist of working with the physical variables of a potential spot for our rose :  our areas' hardiness zone, the hours of full sun per day, the soil pH , the drainage conditions there, the microbial activity there ( assuming we know it for that spot), the micronutrient levels (assuming we know it for that spot) and last but certainly not least, the entire genetic lineage for the rose in question so and the knowledge of how that lineage tends to do with the aforementioned types of variables we have .

The second way to pick out a spot in our yard is to tune into both the rose in question and the spot in question (this spot having first been chosen for the variables such as amount of sun ) and sense out whether they will support one another. That is what counts in the long run , that level of support. A rose can put up with bad drainage, drier conditions or all manner of less than perfect physical variables if it is placed where it can access more of its potential, much of that being subtle. It takes a split second to feel out the situation this way - and if you spend longer than this, you are relying too much on thought and not upon true vibrational matching, which is based on feel.   It is a knowingness and takes no time at all in its purest format. You know the answer before you even utter the question formally in other words. There is no thought involved. You can try this yourself by providing two spots of what you would consider to be equal soil and sun conditions - and then see if you don't get an intuitive feel that one of those spots would be better for a certain rose . In other wrod,s if you germinate the idea that there "could be" a better spot and then use your senses, you may be surprised to find that you do feel there is one! 9 times out of 10 in my yard, one place will feel better than another. It could have to do with the plants (even other roses)that would be neighboring it or any of a vast array of factors I don't even know about. But our inner wisdom will guide us if we care to tune into this.

An Energy Dynamic Comparison

Following is a flow comparison that I note overall for healthy roses versus unhealthy roses. The Unhealthy roses category would include any that regularly get defoliated by black spot, have a virus, or get eaten with extreme severity by other pests.   I include a third group as well, of roses that are fairly healthy yet not performing strongly. This can mean below average flower production or lackluster fragrance in a rose that is supposed to be very fragrant. [Please note: It is a known fact that individuals can have different scent recognition patterns, so you would only assume your rose to have no fragrance if you and at least 2 others agree the fragrance is lacking on at least 2 separate occasions. ]

The more we spray, fertilize or otherwise tamper with the soil and plant, the less we can know how our roses would do naturally. In a quest to create soil health and sustainability, one of the most important things we can personally do , in my opinion, is to place plants correctly in terms of flow dynamics! This allows the rose full capacity at every main layer they have, including empathic and emotional as you will note below. The more whole a rose is, the more fully they will be able to tap into and synergize their physical environment. In my yard I do a quick intuitive match of the rose varieties to my yard overall first before even buying them, and then I place each rose where I feel it would best be able to work its magic within my yard . A rose can require anywhere from 1 to 3 years to get situated fully, assuming I don't set it back by placing anything untoward into the soil or on the plant . I certainly like to look at lovely rose gardens that use all sorts of insecticidal soaps, pesticides and other such practices. But I never get a complete feel of depth from such roses that are existing in such an unnatural setting. Impressive yes. Whole, no. I'd rather have one well placed rose that had some spots on it than an entire field of perfect looking roses that feel only half alive. What do I mean by "depth of feel" ? Look at the comparison below.

The Numerical Key for the Report Below

ranges from 1 to 7.

7 represents very open , healthy flow dynamics.    Anything less than this is a non-smooth dynamic that is more and more serious as we go down in numerical scale. "1 sym" is a dynamic that is very challenging and thus affecting the plant dramatically in a way that is not going to outpicture to long term health and /or easy care on our part .   "Sym" stands for symptomatic. Within this, it's also good to keep in mind that we all have better and worse years overall, and roses are no exception to this. If you have a rose that tends to be more problematic over several years running, however, this could indicate a placement problem or low general life force of the plant.

Item. Healthy Roses . Unhealthy Roses. Non-Productive.

Overall Magnetic Grounding - 7 4 5 Overall Electric Grounding 7 7 7 Physical Life Force 6 - 7 1 - 3 5 Emotional Life Force 7 3 1 sym Spiritual Life Force 7 7 7 Empathic Life Force 6 - 7 4 - 5 1 sym Harmony level between the Physical and the Empathic layers 6 - 7 1 sym 1 sym

In general, note the lessor numbers (aka lessor healthy flow dynamics) for the various categories in the less healthy columns . There is a difference! There may be some sort of technical equipment that can capture some of these flow dyanamics as well , but I am not presently aware of any.

As for the Emotional life force, I have found that not all plants in the Plant Kingdom have a viable dynamic for emotional energy. All roses do however and thus their emotional field is an important facet to consider. We choose the places we live based on our emotions quite often ...perhaps we need to begin considering this for our roses as well.   In terms of the spiritual life force, you can see that no matter what, a rose has a brilliant spiritual energy so it is little wonder we are deeply moved by these plants!

The harmony level between a rose's physical body and empathic body cannot be stressed enough as an important variable! This is shown clearly in the table above on the last line . I see the empathic body as directly influencing the immune system for we humans - and it may also be as pivotal for our roses. Poor flow between these two or a poor placement that doesn't allow a rose's empathic body to function fully will likely result in chronic poor performance or even death for the rose plant over time.

Time Will Tell

In my yard if I cannot move a rose to another place when I feel there is a need (and all yards change over time) , I will allow the consequences to play themselves out rather than laying into a regime of practices that will damage the sustainability of my yard. However, assuming your plant has a good life force to begin with, then placing it intuitively as well as logically will almost be all that is needed to keep your rose happy and healthy for many years to come!
